Default Possible Tranny Problem......

wanted your thoughts although I most likely know what ya'll will say.

noticed a fluid drip on the pavement in the garage where I park.......during oil change I looked up underneath and appears to be fluid on pan and around the other irregular shaped thing above it. ran car through gears and then checked tranny fluid......level was low.

I pretty much know it is tranny leak now......anyone else have this problem. it is a 2003 turbo auto.

btw-- setting up appt. to have dealer fix this and another problem that has arisen. seems the paint ait to good on the rear bumper.....a small area has begun to peel and flake.

Oh man Chris, that's too bad. At least it's still under warranty. My GT had a power steering fluid leak. They replaced the pump and no more problem!

What is it with you and paint?

To tell you the truth, I never noticed a leak. I just had an annoying sound in the engine that kind of sounded like a belt slipping. Come to find out, the power steering fluid was leaking on to the belt making it do that. The dealership first thought it was an oil leak.

Let us know what the outcome is, OK?

Had a tranny leak (drip) on my 2001 last winter. added Lucas transmission sealer/conditioner and eventually went away. Just changed fluid, filter and gasket last weekend; hope the leak doesn't show up again.

Hey there. I reccomend putting a clear tarp under your car for a night so you can catch what leaks out. This will help you see what is leaking.
