I found mine at Kragen Auto Parts shortly after they started stocking K&N Filters. I'm thinking that any parts house that sells the K&N filters will have or can order the filter recharge kits.

Its not a wet filter sooooo, whats the care and feeding of it? Any help would be appreciated. I DO have a air compressor but have heard blowing it out damages the fiber material.

Thanks,
Pam
I can see by your pics that your filter has that reddish tint to it and that is the oil. Don't blow the filter with compressed air. You shouldn't need to clean it for some time. When you get the filter recharge kit it will have 2 solutions in it. One solution is the cleaner which is sprayed on, let set for a time and then hosed off. The filter element must dry completely before spraying on the 2nd solution which is the "oil". The oil should be sprayed into all the "grooves" but not too heavy. It's a fairly easy job but if you need to use your car while the filter element is drying, have you stock air cleaner ready to put on while the Airaid is drying. I'm sure you figured this out but the filter has to come out of the car to do all this.

If the filter elements have a slightly red tint to them then they are already oiled. If you really think they are not, pick up the K&N filter recharging kit at a local speed shop, or well stocked auto parts store and follow the directions, as it is fairly easy to clean and oil the filter portion. Your right, the Airaids don't come with to much literature about cleaning and oiling. Remember, not too much oil when recharging, just lightly coat all portions of the filter element.
Correct. When you use the kit and apply the cleaner and rinse, the filter won't look red when you're done. Apply the oil and then it gets red. I did mine after about 25,000 miles because it looked a little grungy. Pick a nice sunny day so most of water evaporates. Easy to do.
Kat has a good price on the kit - I paid more.

Would you need to clean it more often if you have the Keystone functional ram air hood? I noticed a nice brown square on the top of my filter from where the hood redirects the air. The rest is pretty much quazi clean, but I think I should clean it just to make sure.
