I’m running Mobile 5-30 and a Pure1 filter. You can read up and ask questions from those who take their oil very serious here: http://theoildrop.server101.com/cgi/ultimatebb.cgi Some great knowledge and testing to back up the claims.

Your Cruiser will thank you for running that oil. Like feeding it filet mignon . M1 10-30 is a fantastic oil. I’m running the 5-30, because that is what Costco had . But I’ll guarantee you that a turbo running in a Detroit winter will run hotter than a non-turbo heading out to the Red Rocks on a 120°F day. However, the 5-30 is not “thinner” than the 10-30. At operating temperature, their viscosity is nearly identical, hence the 30 rating. At startup, the 5/30 will flow only slightly easier. At 40°C 5/30 has a viscosity (cSt) of 53.7 and at 100°C it is 9.7. 10/30 has 62 and 10.0. (Interestingly, M1 0/30 has numbers of 54.8 and 10.1) Not enough difference to worry about. The big viscosity difference in these oils is at cold cranking (-35°C) and pumping (-40°C). Neither of which we have to worry about. BTW, I’m also waiting to put a few tankfulls of gas through to see if there is any mileage change.
