Default California Blade THIS WK at Cdn Tire

Toronto area stores have it for 15% off ($7.00 off) this week.Just picked one up. Chris (Buckspuni) told me last fall they're the greatest thing since sliced bread. He said it doesn't scratch paint. It's a surgical silicone wiper (think of a squeegee) to dry your PT instead of using a chamoix.

The California Water Blades are awesome. I've been using mine for almost 3 years now and with it I can completely dry my PT in about 5 minutes.
Another must have is the California Duster. Use it every day and it will cut the amount of times you have to wash your car a LOT.

I just used mine for the first time yesterday. It's such a feeling of satisfaction to be able to swipe at the water and have it vanish, only to land on the ground in a big sploosh! NO - Water - Spots! Yaaaa!!! This really is the greatest thing since sliced bread...

I'm hesitant to buy or recommend a water blade. What if a piece of debris happens to get in the blade and gets dragged around on your paint? Would be a minor scratch after a car wash but a scratch just the same. An old trick is to take the nozzle off your water hose and just sheet the water or let it flow over your car from top to bottom. You may discover that very little water remains and your car can be easily and quickly dried with a cotton or microfiber towel.

what if a speck of dirt gets in your towel or fiber towel? It would be much harder for the object to stay in the water blade they work great. Now the duster might have a better chance of holding harmful dirt, but i've used one for years with no problems. I'd recomened both of those items.

I wouldn't go back to towel drying for anything. I started using the blade a couple months ago. As long as you're careful about only using it on a clean car, there's no problem. I wouldn't use it say, after a rain storm. I'm more likely to drag a piece of dirt across the car in a cloth than with the blade. I always rinse it off, and store it in the original container.

Let me just add that I do go over the car with clean towels and get the remaining water drops the blade doesn't get.

I just use the waterblade as part of the drying process to get the excess water off and use a towel to finish the job.The blade will cut your drying time in half. Si Fi is worried about dragging something across the paint but if you did a proper wash job there shouldn't be anything left to scratch the paint if there is anything you use to dry would scratch .The blade is very soft and flexible so the chance of scratching is just about nil.Once you use one you won't dry your car any other way.
