Satellite Radio. Good thing or not worth it?

Andy, if you go with the whole unit, you will have to reach over and change the station which means you could potentially have to reach over there 100+ times to go through the stations. With the unit that plugs into the back of your current radio, you have a hand held unit on a cord that you can lay in your lap or hold up in front of you as you drive to see what stations you're scrolling through. Give me a few minutes and I'll take a picture of mine and post it.

There are quite a few radios that also come with a remote control. I agree this is a great feature to have. I live having the radio be satellite ready since the FM modulator ones have a seperate screen. I like the clean look of one radio.

Don't know which is the lesser of two evils, a slightly cluttered look and the saftey and convenience of having the handheld or having the clean dash and having to reach over repeatedly while looking away from the road.

You know its been said before so many other ways:

"What do I need a cell phone for"
"Talkin cars, oh please"

It's going to make it as a matter of fact I will make this prediction
it will be the only way to have radio in the future.

(and in ten years from now someone will find this thread and go OMG he's was right)

Again thanks for the pics and the advice. It's good to get others opinions and find out what the best course is before I go in the store.

One more question. Is there any advantage to going to a 'specialist' car audio store as opposed to my local Best Buy where they will alos install it as well? I am guessing that Best Buy (or similar) will offer better sticker prices.

Andy, I have never has a problem having my stuff installed at a "big-box" store. I always buy my gear at Circuit City and the installs each time have been done very well and quickly. At the Circuit City here you can drive in anytime and most things are installed right away. I have never gone to a speciality shop so I honestly don't have anything to compare to.

I've had Sirus since January and love it... I even bought it for my 2nd vehicle... well worth it at just $6.99 a month for the 2nd one..

Go for it! You'll love it!

Hi Rick!. My brother and I met you two and the others at the Sonic over on Hwy 74 May 24th , just wanted to say hi and thanks for the good info on the radio....I have a relative interested in one! Yeah, that Bob and Tom would be missed!

Hope to catch up with you guys again next May when it comes time for the races, I'm thinking of coming in earlier for the Winston races (soon to be renamed) and not stay for the 600.
My hubby's birthday is May 25th and I've missed his birthday the last 3 years, so I better do something different or he's gonna think I'm avoiding his special day!
