Default Installing a Valentine One...

I am thinking of getting a Valentine One Radar Detector and putting it above the rear view mirror, attaced to the windshield. I want to have it hardwired, no coiled cords all over the place. I've heard of others routing the wire under the roof liner and under the a-pillar to behind the dash, that is a possibility.

Another idea I have is to get the power from the upper console (with the thermometer and compass), does anyone know if there is a suitable power source up their without losing my lights or compass display?

Any other tips are greatly appreciated.

Thanks for your time.

From a 2002 Service manual. From the 12 way black connector on the overhead console module, pin # 6 yel/red wire is from fuse # 14, this is a 12 volts switched power. Pin # 9, black wire or # 12, bk/lg wire are ground. Good luck.
André.
