Default Kenwood anyone?

I have a Kenwood KVT-911DVD, the 2002 model. With it, I've got the10 disk CD/MP3 changer and the FM weather band tuner. The naigatuion unit is being shipped and I should have it in 2 days.Psych!

Question: If you have a nav unit (especuially a Kenwood), where do you mount your GPS antenna? Anything I should know about it?

Overall, I'm quite happy with it. It looks great in the dash. (Yes, I need pictures of it.) I never have skipping, even on DVDs. The menus take a little getting used to, but you've got to expect that, given all the features it has.

Just a couple of gripes, for those of you shopping. Th CD/MP3 changer doesn't recognize song titles, even if the MP3 disk has o .mpu songlist on it. If you want that (yes, you do), get the music keg.

Turning on the weather band tuner doesn't raise the power antenna! I thougt that was pretty dumb.

Using both a disk changer and the weather band tuner requires an adapter (one that took a while to come in).

I'd lke to be able to upload jpegs and use them as background or as screen savers. Maybe that's possble with the music keg?. Maybe other brands have that feature?

Comments? Answers? Thanks! Chuckles

Default

I put my GPS antenna between the defroster vent and the edge of the windshield underneath the dash cover. Works great and it's hidden.

Default Good choice!

Thanks, ContraAl! ! have a dash cover, too, so that sounds nice and easy (great for someone like me who just loves taking the easy way out!) Are there any other peripherals (direction / motion / speed sensors) to worry about? These all sound like items that easily hide, anyway. What's the best thing you like about it? Anything you don't like?
