Heads-up in your quest

I bought & installed the stock sub - I didn't want to loose any cargo space and I'm way too old for anything bigger / better..........

The original 8" driver went south in a few weeks, I replaced it with a reasonably priced one from Crutchfield.

Then I found out that the power is applied "all the time" - the battery went dead when the car sat for a few weeks. So I then installed a 12v relay in the "stock circuit" to only apply power when the ignition is on.

All is better now.

Enjoy

That's interesting. I bought one on eBay a few weeks ago, and the way the instructions say to wire it is to get power from the 12V socket on the bottom of the dash (near the console), which is only "live" when the key is on or accessory is on. Maybe yours was wired to a different place, one that's always live? Yours shouldn't be on "all the time" AFAIK.

I won't win any competitions with mine, but the added "ooomph" to the bass is just what I was looking for...without giving up space for my hockey equipment, of course.

Good luck finding one, BLUESCAR. Check eBay.
