Default Anyone running single 8" sub?

Looking for an idea on whose just running a single 8" or 10" sub in there PT.

How do you have it hooked up?

You like it enough? or do you want more?

Brand names is O.K. to post.

I'm trying to decide if I'm gonna go with 1 or 2 8" subs. Next is where did you locate it?

Also did you change out your deck for an after market one?

I guess I could make a poll for this but I want to hear what you all are thinking or have done.

I have a single 8" in my 03. It's the stock mopar sub kit. It gets a little drony around the 180-300 Hz range. Due to the outputs on the stock deck I needed to back off the gain a lot. Almost all the way down. Definately noticeable.

It is not as accurate as I'd like but for the girlfriend's car, space savings and cost it's well worth it.. It mounts super clean and gets the job done..

I don't want to give too much away just yet. But I'm going to be running in my 02.

AMP is TBD
HEAD is TBD also..

I have a powered 6 inch box, its made by Pioneer. I dont remember the actual specs off the top of my head. But in my opinion its perfect. It took a bit of adjustment to get the sound quite right but it kicks like no tomorrow. Granted a bigger sub or more then one will add to the power and sound but its enough for my standard.
Having it in a removable box is nice in case I have to haul something.

Where do you plan to put the 300i plate?

So Far my gear stash is:
2 CDT 8" micro subs
2 CDT 6" euro mids
2 Morel 6 " mids
4 audiophile dome mids
6 audax hard dome super tweeters (good for raising RTA scores)
2 MB Quart MCD25 square flange tweeters
2 MB Quart QM25 tweeter bridges ( taken from an old set of 8" Quart coax)
Xtant 2200i amp
Orion 300BIQ parametric EQ
Rane 31 band pro eq
Rane 3 way w/ delay stereo xover
100 Ft Kimber cable speaker wire (grey)
500 ft Canare quad shielded mike cable
Assorted lengths of Streetwires 12 guage speaker wire
2 large boxes of passive xover parts to build custom xovers with

Also possibly getting a pair of Dynaudio 3 way speakers

Still looking for a head unit & some amps & adding a ton of Cascade sound dampening.

I have the Mopar OEM sub. 8inch with a 50watt amp. It compliments the 12watt radio with the sub gain pot set at MINIMUM.

It fills the inteior with sound. I don't need to fill a whole parking lot with sound.

I got an extra shelf for the center channel. The plan is dual purpose.. It will fire off the rear window and hopefully fill the area above the rear view mirror.. I've done it in a Accord but I don't know if I'll get the angle off the Cruiser. It will be glassed into the rear deck which will be covered in vinyl. The other use will be for mid/highs for tailgating.

Here is a pic of the PG X-over. I bought it about 8 years ago and never bothered to run it.

Wow.. You got a Rane EQ.. Man that's awesome.. I love that EQ. I was going to get one but they had just came out for the car. I really like the EQT but I didn't want to run 2 units.

I have the 8 inch by JBL. Looks like and fits where the OEM one does. Sounds great but I have a 300 watt Alpine amp running it.

I had 2 8s in my pick up there were fine. Now i ave a 10 or 12 ( i forget, now that i have to type it !) tube by TM Rush. It is a aluminum tube rather than MDF. I have a Alpine head driving stock speakers, and the tube and am happy with the results. The tube is on a Pioneer amp crossed ofer to about 300 RMS.

Keep your eye out in the used musical equipment stores & pawn shops. the Rane pro has a DC input on it. all you have to do is contact Rane tech support & tell them you want the DC power supply. Its that easy!
