BooBear, thanks for finding out the real deal. I like the idea of having a seperate piece for around the liscense plate as well....good imagination. Did you happen to ask him why he and the other websites are still using pictures of the older version(misleading info)?

I would love to see that extra piece made and I think many others would agree!

I'm not the one looking into getting these, my father has been interested. BTW- two other websites are selling these for much less than PTWoody!

BooBear to the rescue again.

Now I'm not so sure I _want_ chrome bumper covers. With the rear bumper missing the license plate portion, what colour am I going to see in _that_ area?

Admittedly, I have no idea how these bumpers go on, but there has to be something in the middle there...

Of course people are complaining. If there was a design change, PT Woody should have contacted customers with the details and pictures and ask if they still want to complete the order. This is borderline misrepresentation of a product, IMHO. This not to say PT Woody is a bad company but they need to address their shortcomings.

Cool

The folks at PT Woody were cleaning the blue one, for a new photo shoot, to show the correct bumpers. Anyone offering the bumpers for less, is still getting them from PT Woody. They have the exclusive on the chrome bumpers. Whatever color your bumper is, will show throught the rear opening.
Chrylsler was originally going to offer the chrome bumpers, as a dealer only option. They had the bumpers done, originally(the first design). Then, they decided that they didn't want to have their bumpers ground off on a new car, for an add-on. They redesigned the bumpers, then, scrapped the whole project. Chrysler paid for the tooling for the first bumpers, and ordered the tooling destroyed. PT Woody steped in, to save the bumpers, and wound up in this design change mess. They are trying to correct all of the pics. Give them some time. I hope they do those extra pieces, for the area next to the plate.
That's all for now.

BooBear, thanks for all the effort you put into gathering this info. I may take a run up there myself one of these days. I've wanted to see their place anyway.

You would see the grey bumper....as shown in some of the previous pics on this thread. It is sad that chrysler told them to destroy that!

PTWoody seems to make great quality products...it is a shame that this had to happen to them.

Cool

Larry, let me know when you want to go to PT Woody. They are closed on the weekends, and close at 5:00 p.m., weekdays.

Chris, you're right. The guys at PTW are real decent guys. How many companies would let a customer walk in, asking questions about bumpers, and then take them on a tour of the place, and answer every question thrown at them? They are very aware of the customer dissatisfaction, about the change, and they are trying to make everyone happy. I think they will succeed.

I still like the chrome bumpers, either style! If I had money, this would be my choice of modifications to do to my cruiser. Then a woody kit!
