we're having another PTC done up as a Sedan Delivery - it'll have 20's, since it'll stay in So Cal where the roads are nice and smooth.

The difficulty we ran into with clearance had to do with being conservative and driving the car cross country with 18's on it and lowered - we were afraid of extreme suspension travel on rough interstate back east.

Basically, we wimped out. My wheel builder said 10's were not a problem on back. and I believe him now.

Is the antenna a factory item there or is it aftermarket?
If it aftermarket could you please post a manufacturer's name and part number.

This antenna came with the car as an OE item. The car is supplied for the German market. It's the Limited version. I don't know a part number for the antenna. Sorry

That's great. Will the larger size affect the speedometer or anything else?
The tyre size 225/40R18 and 255/35R18 are of the same circumference as the 205/55R16 OE size. It doesn't affect the gearing. And it works with the ABS system. In the meantime we fitted the higher 255/40R18 Tyre at the rear. Which gives a Hot Rod appearance. And so far it works even with the ABS. We will leave them on until we get the propper suspension kit supplied to lower the car. Than we have to use other tyres.

impatient one (07-12-2000 01:26 a.m.):
Rob- How did you fit the 18x10's on the back? Forrest from Mother's Wax said he had trouble just fitting the 18X8.5s! I guess they must have been a different offset though. I wanted to go with the 8.5s but i'm a bit hesitant. How much have you dropped the car? What do you have to do to get 19's on it? By the way, it looks sweet!
Hi impatient one,

Forrest is right. The 10J's are sticking out of the body. But as this car is not lowered we found no problems with the tyres catching the arches. For the foto they loaded the car with some hundred kg's of bolts to get it down. But once the car is fitted with a suspension kit I'm sure the rims will rub at the wheel arch. We than would have to roll them out for 25-30mm each side I guess. I doubt we will have this carried out (The 19"s are the next job) with this car. The offset of the 10J wheel is 26mm. It just clears at the inside (left side!). Therefore you can't go further inboard! A 10J at the rear will fitt under the standard ride hight. But with a heavy loaded vehicle or an extensive lowered car you are better off with the 8,5x18. At the front we currently drive 8,5x18 offset 33 with 225/40R18. For my opinion they are the practicable package to have on the PTC. But the 10J at the rear is the much better show. ...
19" wheels are ok to fit with 235/35R19 tyres on (Same circumference). I did the fittment check with it. It sticks out at the front corner just a bit. We have a set 8x19 offset 35 at the chromer which they want to drive on the car. I keep you updated once it is fitted and driven.
