Question PT Hood and Liner

I am wanting to try and do something creative with the liner under the hood of my Cruiser. After making Revenue Canada and the Provincial Pharmacare Happy for another year funds or reserve are at an all time low. If I could get some assistance on the topics listed below I have a few ideas: Large decal of a ganster, or possibly a picture of Fearless Fosdick from Lil Abner, or maybe a poster of some nice quite old time city or town scene. Any help would be appreciated.

How water proof is it and is there a way of cleaning it?

Are both sides waterproof or do they have to be waterproofed?

How is the best way to try and remove those stupid push in plugs that hold it on so you can use them again or is that possible?

Is there some sort of clear matt or dull finish that could be sprayed on it to waterproof and prepare it? If so what would it be called and who would make or handle it.

Has anyone tried glueing a poster or pictures on it?

Many thanks for any advice.

Almond Lush....I use a mirror for under the hood but you may want to consider the attachment method I use. Velcro strips around the edge. Just pull it off after shows and no need to try to keep it clean under the hood . Attaches in about 20 seconds and holds great. The mirror is 1/8" thick plexiglass and the velcro holds it on just fine .

Before cutting plexi, did you make a template? It's awkward fighting gravity.
Any tips on how to trace a paper template underneath hood?
Don't want to remove the hood! LOL

Could you remove the hood liner and trace it?

Not a bad idea. Thanks. But as Lush alluded to, I've heard those liner clips tend to break. How did you shape yours? Loved your pics. Bought the plexi right after your post last year. I want to finally do it now that winter's over.

I painted Flames on mine using the same color change paint I used on the modesty cover. Had to seal it first so I used some latex house paint as a base primer. As to the clips, I bought some from the dealer parts dept for less than $1 apiece.

My dealer wants over $4 a piece for those clips.

There is a guy down here in Florida that paints a hood liner and modesty cover in what ever style you want. The hood liner is just used for shows and is held on by velcro or hooks. So far about 4 people in our club have had it done. The results are awesome.
