Can't you just open the door from the inside and it'll unlock the door? Unless you have the child protection switch on, you should be able to do THAT pretty easily....

Good luck!

Yes, like he said, just pull the inside door handle. Whether the pin is visible, it'll still open.

Unfortunately, my rear doors don't open automatically from the inside when locked the way the front doors do (I tried & tried). I tried to use a coat hanger to snare the wayward plunger, but to no avail. I even tried my trusty magnetized, telescopic nut & bolt retriever and was terribly disappointed when I realized the opening for the door lock was approximately one millimeter smaller than the tool. I think I need to get some magnetized screwdrivers...

I was able to remove the sail trim (at rear of door) and the screws holding the door trim (the only screw I could not remove was covered because the door was closed). I was finally able to wrestle the top trim away from the door panel - the seal there is a pain in the neck, but once it came apart, it went quickly. The plunger was located to the extreme left under the plastic water dam (which tore). All I can figure is that when pulling the funky-shaped OEM door lock pull out, I bumped the plunger into the lock position. All is well and the rear door is back together with no evident permanent damage.

Thanks to you all for your suggestions and insight!
