Question changing your interior color

has anyone other than harrie changed their interior color? I want to Change a few accent panels from tan to black but dont want to have to worry about it scratching off. I'd also like to change my carpet color and have searched extensively for an alternate color replacement insert but have found only generic square carpet or carpet for older cars. any tips ,hints, links, or suggestions?

I have had the front seats reupholstered with a cranberry insert, painted the top dash, center console, floor console, grey area of the door panels, 'sail' panels (the panels near the door mirrors) and the A pillars all cranberry.
It all comes apart fairly easy, All my panels are now smooth which very time consuming but worth it once it was done.

I found that the Cranberry paint sold at Autozone was a perfect match when I used a very light grey primer, its also half the price of the dealer stuff and I can buy it off the shelf, usually in stock rather then the 3 day wait from the local stealers.
I sanded it all smooth for two reasons, it matched the exsisting panels better, and gives it more a classic 'metal' dash look.
Here is one pic, I have others I can email you, which would save on having to resize for posting.

We dyed the inserts of our seats blue. They had to be lightly sanded and then the dye applied and left to sit overnight. It looks quite good and seems to be wearing quite well!

Fantastic looking job. Aboutg the only thing I dislike on the PT is the variety of shades and textures of mousehair and plastic of the interior.
Can you share what the cost of the seat inserts ran, along with time it took and if the shop did the seat removal etc????
Again, wonderful job makes it a different car inside.

I checked with numerous shops in town, I picked one that was middle of the road and best for time. They offered a single day turn around, cost was $60 a panel (120 a seat) I had supplied my own fabric though. They started at 7:00 and finished at 1:00.
I had 'full inserts' done, if you want just that smaller square area done like a Dreamer those a 'Half inserts', using the right term ensures you get the right job.
And yes they took the seats out, disassembled and redid the covers.

That looks really nice. We almost went that way too but were told that the suede inserts wouldn't dye very well, so we dyed the leather instead!
