Default Dome light bulb

Looking all over trying to find the dome light bulb, found that its a T579 but can not find anything anywhere for one. Would like to get one in purple, but can't even find a normal one either?

I believe T579 is a Chrysler part number

I went to the hardware store and got some exterior bulbs that were the same size. Worked great...

Also if you want to change the color of your dome light. Go to a good camera shop and you want a gel.. Not the lense kind, but the sheet kind. It is like a really heavy flexible sheet.. You can cut out several from one gel.. so if you don't get it right, you have room to try again..

FYI about modding stock bulbs...

I bought that heat tempered galss paint junk from Michaels...

Worked great for about 2 months, then it all burned and turned black. Now my light is a mixture of blue and the normal yelloish/white. Bah. Dont do it I tell you!
