Yes, I went with low beams and fog lights.

The headlight bulbs are a special design. They have a straight plug unstead of an angled plug. I made the mistake of buying them at the dealership. The dealerships offer them for 27 each. You can buy a pair directly from Sylvania for $44. Its the same price for the fog light bulbs. You can also get chrome turn signal bulbs for 22 a pair ( think). Silvania also gives you free second day shipping on your order. Dan

Can read these articles about HID conversions: http://lighting.mbz.org/tech/bulbs/H...nversions.html http://lighting.mbz.org/tech/bulbs/H...dvantages.html There is a growing movement to change the color output of all HID bulbs towards the yellow spectrum. Too many people have been complaining about the current HID lights glare and blinding oncoming traffic. There are differences in HID operation too. Once activated, you should give the bulb at least four minutes to warm up to its proper operating temperature before turning it off. You should also wait at least a minute before restarting a bulb that has just been turned off. Also a lot of the conversion kits can't use the OEM D2R or D2S type bulbs, and one would have to buy replacement bulbs with the appropiate conversion base (9005, 9006, etc) for your application from the conversion kit supplier. The alternative is to find a conversion kit that uses OEM HID bulbs with adapter rings to fit your application. Replacement bulb prices range from $65-150. |

The cheaper bulbs out there will have more color to the light. Also they tend to run hotter causing problems with the harness & housing melting. the silver star is about as high of a wattage you would want to go. IMO
