I kind of like it !!!!! I like the old super tall shifters. You know... the ones that are taller than the dash.

Do you mean buying one from a supplier . I don't think so .I know Chrysler had them for some of their 70's models , but this is a one of a kind for the PT Cruiser .I designed it myself starting with carving the wood handle , bending the tubing for the shaft, and making a shifter boot that wasn't installed at the time the picture was taken.

They do repro them now. Year one has them. The originals sell for about 400 + . I think the repros are around 200. I was thinking about getting one but I think you would have to have a Hurst shifter to make it work. I don't even know if it would work then without modification. I thought one for an ebody( Cuda or Challenger) would work best. They had shorter handles.

Gunslinger also makes one for autos but I don't know if it would work.

I really like it too. Cool and retro. I know that Hurst has the "tall" shifter rod that will fit on my Hurst shifter, but I was never able to find a part number for it so I could order it. I'd love to have a "tall shifter" in the PT Rod.
