Question Remote Start

Forgive if this has been covered but I can't find an answer. Is there any way to have a remote starter put in without having to bury the key?

I am having a remote starter for my 2002 standard put in tomorrow and they want me to buy another key from Chrysler. Was going to have the remote that does my locks as well but decided I'll go with two remotes so that I have the factory remote to do doors and panic alarm.

Anything I need to know before I have the starter installed?

Thanks.

Laurie

I have an AudioVox alarm system, and there is an optional relay that is added, to allow the remote starter to run the engine without a key..... I believe most decent alarm systems have this capability....
I do recall that this topic has appeared several times, although I don't recall which threads, exactly.... if you do a search with:
remote AND starter AND key, it will give you a list of threads with some useful info...

If you have the base model, it comes with a standard key and no Sentry Key Immobilizer System.
You will NOT need a hidden key if you don't have the Sentry Key.

The base models are 27D manual trans and 28D auto trans.
