Question Beltline on hood? - Installation Question

I would like to add a chrome beltline to my PT so I bought the chrome stuff from AutoZone. I just not sure about putting it on the edge of the hood under the emblem. I'm afraid it's going to be too close to look good or even touch. I haven't been able to find any pictures of it installed this way. I've also seen some kits where the beltline stops right before it touches the grille. Any suggestions?

Thanks!

I guess it depends on how wide the trim is..if it's only a quarter inch, you can sneek it underneath the emblem..if it's wider than that, though, it'll bump into it. If you could get the ends with points, I'd get those. That way you could end them about half way to the front and that would look real nice..just like chrome trim on early model cars did.

Hey Jenz, I'm in the middle of doing the same thing! Go to Silly Eagles Cleveland pics
there are a TON of great pics of what looks like a ton of fun ( that I missed! ) and also several Cruisers with the beltline like your looking for! Good luck, and POST PICS!!!

I've seen some like this and it appears that they had to hand cut the piece to make it fit around the emblem.

Very Nice Black hawk. I have the beltline in the shade shifting colors. I went below the wings too! Good luck on what you decide to do.

Black Hawk-
Thanks for the picture. The beltline looks great on your Cruiser! I wish I could find some chrome that was flat not round like the stuff I got at Auto Zone. I think that would make the cuts neater.

Does anyone know if someone makes chrome pinstriping? Kind-of like the mirror chrome logo flames that Rick at Streamline Designs has. Humm....

PT Woody does have a hood beltline kit. It's the easier way to go, but not the cheapest:

You can get more info here.
