Still trying to MASK off what I don't want to paint! Pesonally, i do not want to paint the vents. Both the driver and pass. side vents are the "grey" colour and I want to keep the center the same. Prob is, there is little for the masking tape to stick to.... I have restarted about 10 times. May revert to vaseline! (no- not for THAT reason!  )

Sean, wash the parts thoroughly with soap and water,If you can, also wash it with a plastic cleaner (automotive type).
I don't know what you are trying to mask it with but the best thing would be a 3M fineline tape,it's blue and tends to keep it's shape around corners better than standard masking tape.
