1st wheell I likey. And yes better quality pads and rotors will decrease the squeal, but you must break/bed them in correctly and have them installed with rails and slides being nice and greased. In other words the grease monkey needs to take the time to clean your calipers then grease them up before they slap the new pads in.

A great low dust non ceramic or cermic blend pad that doesn't make as much noise as my full ceramic is the Hawk HPS. And if you have rear drums, if you are hearing them grind, its time to just have them cleaned out. I have to have mine checked every couple years since they start to make noise. Nothing is wrong they just get loud and grindy sounding.

And after a rain the first couple of stops its normal to hear brake noise. Its just the flash rust being ground off this is normal. For the PT we just really hear it for some reason.
