In my 10+ years as an aircraft mechanic, dealing with pilots everyday, you have just described every pilot I met. Would it surprise you that while I was in Saudi Sand Box during the Gulf war, that not just the pilots had to have thier unifoms "pressed and creased", but we maintenance folks also had to maintain that same standard, as well as keeping our boots clean and buffed to a shine? Yes, during a war, in the sand.
