The DIY setup is fine for those who are able to do the work and willing to round up the parts and don't mind drilling the holes. The truth is that almost any hood struts are better than no hood struts, they don't have to look professional to do the job. This DIY setup will do the job for those who want to try it and it is a VERY satisfying project that those who have done it are rightfully proud.

I just want to make sure that people realize that this DIY design is a very different design than mine and it will not perform the same as mine. It uses different size and quality gas springs, has a different geometry, will not work on aftermarket hoods whithout drilling the hood and can require some fairly fussy adjusments to fit correctly.

Also, I just checked today's US\Canada exchange rate and the actual cost of my standard Hood Lift Kit, delivered to your door in Canada by Global Priority Mail is $180.01 Can total, not $210.00 Can. My many Canadian customers can confirm this amount is the complete and total delivered cost. I just wanted to make sure the facts are straight.
