Al bought my complete exhaust system, which uses a high-flow 3" CAT. A transition cone was used from the flex joint , which is about 2 5/8" ID, to the 3" CAT. The system was custom made for my car.

BTW there are a lot of cars much faster than Al's, ... you just don't expect to be surprised like that by a PT.
The WRXs strong suit is "traction and acceleration from a dead or slow roll and cornering under power.... " After 35 mph or so, ... all that AWD stuff is extra bagage and friction. .. From a standing start, ... I'm sure the story would have been different!
