I think I read lately that there's not much if any, difference in the degree of dangerous distraction between holding the phone & not holding the phone. The danger seems to stem from the amount of concentration required to hold a telephone conversation & still be able to make all the instant decisions required in driving. There is a huge body of evidence showing that people don't have that ability. There otta be a law.
